There is almost nothing I won't cook on the BBQ. I love the smokey taste the grilling beast imparts on all foods. Fortunately I have a great balcony space where I have a great gas fueled grill. I love it because I can start the grill and 10 minutes later I've got that sizzling sounds without faffing about with charcoal.

I had an unexpected windfall of potatoes from Plot 34, so rather than be blase about their preparation I thought I'd treat them to a kiss of flames.

BBQ'd New Potatoes

1kg (2lb) New Potatoes
3 tbs Olive Oil (nothing fancy or special)
small sprig of rosemary, thyme and sage roughly chopped
1 clove garlic (chopped fine)
Salt and fresh ground pepper to taste.

1. Wash the potatoes and place in to a saucepan and fill with water. Salt the water generously
2. bring the potatoes to the boil and cook until tender.
3. Drain the potatoes and let them 'Steam' in the colander to release any extra moisture.
4. In a bowl ad the semi cooled potatoes, olive oil. herbs, and garlic. Toss to coat and let them rest to absorb the oils and flavour.
6. When the BBQ is ready, with a slotted spoon dd the potatoes to the grill. It's important to not get too much oil on the coals/element or there will be bursts of flame (Hence the slotted spoon) Retain the remaining oil & herb mixture to dress the finished potatoes.
7. Gently grill the potatoes over a low heat till they become crispy and burnished bronze.
8. Remove from the grill and toss in the reserved ois to dress. Season with salt and pepper and serve.
